Well I like the meeting Aesclepius meditation. whoa text change... Ah well I like this one better. Meditation has increased my psychological wellness by letting me experience what it is like to ignore thoughts until they go away. This has been very helpful to me because I used to get beat up by my thoughts until I discovered I could make/let them go away. I can continue to apply this in my life by making sure I continue meditating after my classes are over.
The saying "one cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" means that if I have never experienced psychological, physical, and spiritual wellness I can't tell others how to get there. Yes I have an obligation to my clients to develop various aspects of health because if they come to me for the steps to wellness I should be able to tell them from experience. Experience is also helpful because it allows me to know exactly what challenges they will face in their journey to wellness.
I am glad that the meditation has been working so well for you! Though I am not that far, I do notice that when negative thoughts come into my mind I am more aware of them in a way so that I can then push them out. Once I notice they are creeping in, I change my direction of thought or concentrate on my breathing and this helps to soothe my mind.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that we are obligated to experience what we are trying to give out. Personally, I have been trying as many things, practices, and workshops in order to gain some prospective on as many things as I can. I want people to come to me for advice on different products, or practices that they may want to experience and I can give them whatever information I have from personal experience. I think that is truly what is best when it comes to our field of study.
ReplyDeleteI think we all have the obligation to practice what we preach for our future clients, for our children, and for the people we may meet, and who may look up to us. I too, am going to try to keep up with my meditations after class is over, as they are helping me in my personal life, and helping me make better, less impulsive choices, and help me to feel more at peace when faced with stressful situations.
